The Care Committee

Because no mom should walk through a hard season alone.

At DFW Mom Society, we believe motherhood was never meant to be done alone.

The Care Committee exists to come alongside moms in our community during life’s heavier seasons—whether that’s welcoming a new baby, walking through a medical situation, or simply having a really hard week.

Sometimes support looks like a full schedule of meals.
Sometimes it’s just a couple of dinners to help a mom catch her breath.

Either way, we’re here for it 🤍

Meal Train (Extended Support)

Meal Trains are created for moms walking through more significant or ongoing needs, such as:

  • Postpartum recovery
  • Major medical events or surgery
  • Loss or major life transition

To help us thoughtfully support moms with the greatest needs, Meal Trains require 3 nominations to be activated.

Once approved, our team organizes a coordinated meal schedule so that the mom receives consistent, reliable support during her season.

Meal Match (Short-Term Support)

Not every need requires a full meal train—and that’s where Meal Match comes in.

Meal Match is designed for moms who could use a little extra support in the moment, such as:

  • Sickness in the home
  • Recovery from a minor procedure
  • Unexpected life circumstances

This option requires just one nomination.

Here’s how it works:

  • A mom nominates another mom and commits to bringing her a meal
  • Our Care Committee then matches that act of kindness with one additional meal from a volunteer

It’s a simple, meaningful way to show up for each other in the in-between moments that still matter so much.

A Note About Nominations

By submitting a nomination for either a Meal Train or a Meal Match, you are agreeing to:

Provide the first meal for the mom you are nominating.

This helps ensure that every request for support begins with someone who knows her, sees her, and is willing to step in first.

  • For Meal Trains: your meal helps begin a longer stretch of care
  • For Meal Match: your meal is one of the two meals she will receive

It’s a small step that creates a ripple effect of support.

Nominate a Mom

If you know a mom in our Village who could use extra support during a difficult season, we would love to hear from you.

Submission of a nomination does not guarantee activation of a meal train. Each request is reviewed by our Care Committee to ensure alignment with program guidelines and volunteer capacity.
